What you can expect

For over 20 years, Wētā Workshop has crafted beautiful leather work for the big screen. Having kitted out countless armies with chainmaille and leather-adorned costumes, the Workshop has brought life to many films, such as The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Chronicles of Narnia, and more. Our hands-on workshop is your chance to create your movie magic with our crew. Learn techniques used by our costume department and refine, design, and dye your very own leather keepsake! It’s an intro to leather work, and you’ll be guided through a process of creativity by our team.

Location
  • Weta Workshop is based on the corner of Weka Street and Camperdown Road, Miramar, Wellington. There is a 550m walk between the tour space and hands-on workshop space. Please allow enough time to find a carpark, as spaces are limited.
Additional Information
  • Creative workshops are available for those aged 12 and over
  • Photography is strictly prohibited whilst in the tour spaces
  • Please notify the provider if you have sensitive skin or known allergies
Cancellation Policy
  • Please allow up to 48 hours for a response. If cancellation is made within 24 hours of arrival, there is no refund available.
  • If cancellation is made within 48 hours of arrival, we will refund 50% of the total booking price.
  • If a tour is cancelled by Weta Workshop, we can reschedule your tour to another day that suits you or offer a full refund.

  • Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
  • Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
  • Mobile Vouchers are accepted! - Vouchers can also be presented on your mobile device for this attraction
  • For your information, complete Tour Operator Information including contact details is included on your tour voucher
  • Availability was accurate at the time of booking however, is subject to change due to circumstances out of our control
  • We strongly suggest reconfirming your booking with the tour operator within 24 hours of making your booking and prior to making other travel arrangements
